Comments On This Blog Just Became More Likely
Teresa Nielsen Hayden posted an Autodisemvoweller to her blog. For those not familiar with her comments practice, Trolls and other troublemakers who don't contribute to general conversation have their posts disemvowelled, leaving only vaguely-connected consonants to give mute witness to that person's stupidity. My own reluctance to have comments is the prospect of having unintelligent people post comments on my blog. This way, if I actually decided to put them on, I'd have this as a tool to keep control of the comments.
For example, the above text looks like this when put through the autodisemvoweller.
Trs Nlsn Hydn pstd n tdsmvwllr t hr blg. Fr ths nt fmlr wth hr cmmnts prctc, Trlls nd thr trblmkrs wh dn't cntrbt t gnrl cnvrstn hv thr psts dsmvwlld, lvng nl vgl-cnnctd cnsnnts t gv mt wtnss t tht prsn's stpdt. M wn rlctnc t hv cmmnts s th prspct f hvng nntllgnt ppl pst cmmnts n m blg. Ths w, f ctll dcdd t pt thm n, 'd hv ths s tl t kp cntrl f th cmmnts.
Also, offending comments would have to be put through the autodisemvoweller myself, with my very lonesome deciding what would be subject to it, so it would be by no means automated.
