Old News
By now I'm sure you've heard that Rep. Tom Delay (R-TX), House Majority Leader, has been indicted in his home state on criminal conspiracy charges stemming from some hanky-panky his PAC, Texans for a Republican Majority, did in the lead-up to last year's elections. The VRWC has already started the spin-doctoring that the prosecutor, Ronnie Earle, is a partisan democrat, when really he's a trophy-hunter. Anyhow, the real point of this post was to see if I could get a response out of Matt over what he thinks of Delay's "Temporary Replacement," closet heterosexual Rep. David Dreier (R-CA). Will he be, ya know, not evil, or will he toe the party line?
UPDATE: Apparently Hastert's attempt to give the Dems a wedge in the GOP leadership didn't fly with the House Republican Caucus, and the Majority Whip, Rep. Roy Blunt (R, MO-7), will step in to fill Delay's shoes. At least one big, corrupt olliephunt is on his way out...
