While some one-quarter Irish white folk may magnanimously deem the “Fighting Irish” charming, it’s doubtful that they’d have done so if that little Leprechaun had been dancing at an English university on Irish soil around, say, 1700 or so. Or if the Little Leprechaun were doing a little “Eucharist” dance with objects sacred to Irish Catholics but indifferent to English Protestants.
