State of the State
I haven't read the whole thing yet, but Blago's promising a lot of stuff and, in full Blago fashion, isn't saying a word on how he's going to actually pay for it. Beyond that, I'm going to leave the public works bit of it alone. However, in amongst the "compare me to the evil people in Washington, not my primary challenger" bits, Blago does propose a $1,000 tax credit for college freshman and sophomores, which apparently will apply to whoever's footing the bill for the student's education. The idea does have merit, however nebulous its funding sources are supposed to be, although I'd also like to get a committment out of the governor that he's going to adequately fund the state's public universtities. Ain't gonna happen, I know.
