Put Out Some Flypaper, Catch A Few Flies
So, John Bambenek, author of a recent Daily Illini op-ed advocating classes in Intelligent Design at our fair university, has finally made his presence known in the comments for a recent post. You're free to read the current back-and-forth if you like, but for those of you who don't, I think it's time for:
Shorter John Bambenek (compiled from his comments and his recent column)
Intelligent Design is science, even though I say it isn't, and science should include the supernatural, even though that would keep science from being science.
Although geologic evidence, rRNA sequence convergence of the three domains, the patterns produced by pre-Darwinian evolution in the genetic code, and experimental data give us an ever-improving picture of the genesis of life on this planet, evolution is "completely flaccid" when it comes to creation.
Sites which state the real facts about what I'm talking about are just propaganda, and can be ignored.
And just because I use my Catholicism to bludgeon other people, doesn't mean that others can turn it back on me.
