Do You Take Us For Fools, Lou?
Up on the front page of the CNN.com website, Lou Dobbs has an opinion piece up where he rants about reports that the US Border Patrol is telling the Mexican government where the Minutemen patrols are as if it's a bad thing.
I've stayed quiet on the immigration issue because, frankly, I know much less about it than I'd like to. However, I do read David Neiwert's blog (which you should all read, by the way), so I know what kind of people the Minutemen are: crazy xenophobes who are armed and looking to shoot people and preferably kill them. IIRC, they've also said they have no qualms firing on members of the Mexican military. Leaving behind the whole Thou Shalt Not Kill bit that the so-called "values voters" supposedly care about, the Federal government's trying to keep people from getting shot and killed. Dead bodies create international incidents, and one of the last things we want is to have a very pissed-off neighbor on our Southern border.
This isn't being duplicitous, Lou, it's called being realistic.
