Idiot
As readers of this blog know, Acton Gorton of the Cartoon Two has been running a blog, gortreport, in order to generate further pity on himself for being punished after screwing up big-time.
When the blog first went up, I noted that it was in probable violation of the Daily Illini's blogging policy (the text of which got leaked to Bill Dennis, who put it on his blog). Lo and behold, it is! And not only is it found to be inviolation of the bit that "An employee’s affiliation with Illini Media or any of its units should not be the focus of his or her personal blog or Web site," but Acton makes out as if this is just another in a long line of unjust persecution suffered by him at the hands of the Illini Media company.
Talk about huevos.
My guess is that Acton got told that if he wanted to even think about getting his job back that the blog had to come down. If so, this is unfortunate, as I was hoping he'd be fired outright for stupidity leading to the damage of the newspaper. I'll still be happy with Gorton and Prochaska being stripped of their editorships, if such come to pass, though.
